Can I Choose My Own Shop?

Florida Statute 626.9743(3) covers insurers that require a particular repair shop: the vehicle must be restored in performance and appearance at no additional cost to you, other than as stated in your policy.

Check your policy, then tell your insurance company you want Luxe Auto Body to repair your car and send us the claim number.

OEM Parts vs Aftermarket — What Insurance Won't Tell You

OEM parts are made by your car's manufacturer. Aftermarket parts are made by other companies and can differ in fit, finish and material. An insurance estimate may list either.

Florida Statute 626.9743(4) says an insurer may not require replacement parts that are not at least equivalent in kind and quality to the damaged parts in fit, appearance and performance. Ask which type of parts your estimate lists.

Ask about your estimate

  • Which parts are OEM and which are aftermarket?
  • Do the parts match the originals in fit, appearance and performance?

Insurance Claim Questions

Does Luxe Auto Body accept my insurance?

Yes. Luxe Auto Body accepts all types of insurance. Tell us your insurance company when you request your estimate.

Can I get a rental car while my car is repaired?

It depends on your coverage. Rental reimbursement is optional coverage on your own policy, usually with daily and time limits. If another driver was at fault, their liability insurer may cover a rental. Ask your insurer what applies to you.

How long does an insurance claim repair take?

The time depends on the damage, parts availability and when your insurer approves the repair.

Can my insurance company force me to use a certain shop?

Florida Statute 626.9743(3) covers insurers that require a particular repair shop: the vehicle must be restored in performance and appearance at no additional cost to you, other than as stated in your policy. Check your policy, and tell your insurer if you want Luxe Auto Body to repair your car.

Can I claim diminished value in Florida?

Usually only against the at-fault driver's insurer. In Siegle v. Progressive (2002), the Florida Supreme Court held that a repair-or-replace policy does not have to pay diminished value after a proper repair. Time limits apply, so ask a Florida attorney about your case.

Do I have to pay my deductible?

If you claim on your own collision or comprehensive coverage, you usually pay your deductible. If another driver is at fault and their insurer pays under their liability coverage, you usually don't. Ask your insurer which applies.

What is an insurance supplement?

A supplement is an addition to the original estimate when damage is found that could not be seen when the estimate was written. It needs approval before that extra repair goes ahead.

How do I start a collision repair claim?

Report the accident to your insurer and get a claim number. Then send Luxe Auto Body photos of the damage with the estimate form, or call (954) 820-7391, and include your insurer and claim number.

Can my repair cost $0 out of pocket?

Sometimes, but it depends on fault and coverage. If another driver is at fault and their insurer accepts the claim, it may pay for the repair. On your own collision coverage, you usually pay your deductible. Ask your insurer what your policy covers.
